Meet Dr. Akoury

Dr. Dalal Akoury, MD is the founder of AWAREmed Health & Wellness Resource Center.  Dr. Akoury is a Founding Member of the International Organization of Integrative Cancer Physicians.  She is fellowship trained and certified in anti-aging functional and regenerative medicine, and has more than twenty years of accumulated experience in emergency medicine and pediatrics.  Additionally, she holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health. Dr. Akoury has also served fellowships in pediatric hematology and oncology and has performed research in leukemia and the effects of smoking. This lifetime of experience, along with a unique sensitivity, genuine compassion, and a driving passion to inspire health in everyone has prepared “Dr. Dolly” to be the doctor she is today. About developing her dream, AWAREmed, Dr. Akoury says, “My mission is to ignite the spark of health deep within everyone, and to allow this sparkle of wellness to shine through everyone’s eyes, becoming one with the universe, and aligning body, mind, and spirit.”

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina based Integrative Functional Medicine Physician Dr. Dalal Akoury has served as an Emergency Room Physician since 1990. She is fellowship trained and is currently a Diplomate in the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). She is also a member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM). Dr. Akoury is a Member of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and a graduate of Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP), IFMs foundational course, and is currently enrolled in the Functional Medicine Certification Program.

The AWAREmed Health & Wellness Resource Center is in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The Dr. Akoury and her staff are dedicated to anti-aging and lifestyle medicine, customized nutrition and fitness programs helping both women and men resolve symptoms, including weight gain, sexual dysfunction, declining energy levels, and stress brought on by menopause and andropause.

Dr. Akoury uses state-of-the-art methods including saliva, urine and serum testing to perform a comprehensive analysis of each patient's hormonal needs. Working directly with you, she will then develop your personalized program - a multi-disciplined approach that consists of bioidentical hormone therapy, fitness, and nutrition.
